   We examined all 50 United States Governor and Attorney General websites to see what they had in terms of effective child abduction prevention measures and found that none of them have any worthwhile programs to prevent the rape and murder of children. These people are the top law enforcement officials sworn to protect their citizens from crime and assault. Their ignorance and inaction in this area is criminal.

   With non-family child abductions at nearly 60,000 each year, the old methods of deterence are of little use and are certainly not reducing the crime. Check out the below links to see what your top law enforcement officials aren't doing about this serious problem:

  The new Allen County, Indiana, Public Library, in Fort Wayne--one of the most used libraries in the United States--has a serious safety flaw, in our opinion. The 2nd floor balcony rail (pictured above) is only 42 inches high, with large slots at the bottom in many areas, making it easy for a child to climb over and fall to his or her death.

   Worse, a couple of terrorists could throw several children over the rail in a few seconds before anyone could intervene to stop them! This barrier needs to be at least twice as high as it presently is.

   The people who designed the little barrier must feel that the thrill of looking out over the Great Hall, as they call it, exceeds the value of realistic safety concerns...But the Great Hall isn't great in any respect, except its size, and has nothing unique to look at. Perhaps looking out over a two-story space is the desired effect, but being high up without adequate safeguards is dangerous.
